Guardians of Democracy (2024)

Oil, Acrylic, and Gold Ink on Canvas

Guardians of Democracy was created in light of the 2024 Presidential Election. Two Black women figures represent interpretations of classic American symbols - Lady Justice (left) and the Statue of Liberty (right). They are joined in holding a crystal ball - representing the fate of American Democracy. This piece also represents the role Black women play in serving as the backbone of protecting human and civil rights - the very fiber of American Democracy.

This piece is currently on exhibit at the Erie Art Museum, as part of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh's 111th Annual Exhibition - though December 2025.
